Questions about billing.
What counts as an event?
One stored action — a call to track() from an SDK or one auto-captured browser interaction. Reads, queries, feed renders, and exports are free.
What happens if I exceed my plan's monthly events?
New events are rejected with 402 (on the SDKs and on auto-capture alike) until the 1st of next month. Nothing is deleted, and reads, feeds, and exports keep working. Upgrade from the dashboard's Plan & usage page to lift the cap immediately.
How do I upgrade or change plans?
Open Plan & usage in the dashboard — it shows your usage meter and the upgrade path. During the beta upgrades are confirmed by our team the same day; email hello@softechlog.com or book a call if you'd like to talk it through.
How is retention enforced?
Automatically, every hour, on each event's occurred_at: Free keeps 30 days, Growth 90, Scale 365. Actor records are kept. See Data Retention.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Yes, on every plan. Export CSV or JSON from the dashboard's Events page or with GET /v1/events/export — you own your event model.
